About

Walk in the footsteps of the miners who worked for the Dukes of Lorraine and discover an astonishing heritage carved into the granite between 1560 and 1761. The discovery trail takes you through the St Thomas and St Charles mines, two underground tunnels full of character. Travel through the Rouge-Montagne mine, equipped with a helmet and headlamp, to the heart of the underground network. Between each underground section you will discover the vestiges of the surface facilities (shafts, waste heaps, water power infrastructure etc.).

The Maison des Hautes-Mynes display completes the tour: equipment, tools, models and videos. Open all year round. Helmet and light provided – Bring sturdy shoes.
